Unlike most polysaccharides chitosan has a strong positive charge which allows it to bind to negatively charged surfaces such as hair & skin. This makes it useful as an ingredient in skin & hair care products. Also in place of synthetic resins which are generally used in hair fixers chitosan can be used in hair cosmetic products without the disadvantage of synthetic polymers.

good hair protecting effect. It prevents the lowering of
tensile strength of hair & also exert antistatic effect which
prevents the breaking of hair while combing.
Lotion and Cream for sole and heal. Cracks in heals and burning sensation in sole is a very common phenomena faced by ladies. The chitosan based cream & lotions are very effective to cure the problem. The products also give a cool soothing effect.
Also the ingredient can be incorporated in other cosmetic preperations like moisturizing lotion, cream etc.
